Pita Delite | Our Story

A Greensboro Original Since 1987

Kamal Dergham opened Pita Delite on Battleground Avenue in 1987 with one simple goal: serve fresh, honest Lebanese food and treat every guest like family. Nearly four decades later, that's still exactly what we do.

One Storefront on Battleground

In 1987, Kamal Dergham left Lebanon and opened a small restaurant on Battleground Avenue in Greensboro, North Carolina. He wanted to share the food he grew up with — and to build a place where every person who walked in felt genuinely welcome.

Everything at Pita Delite is made to order using the freshest ingredients — you can watch it happen every single time. That commitment to cooking fresh, rather than keeping things warm under a heat lamp, is the reason guests keep coming back.

Kamal developed every sauce and dressing on the menu himself, and guests loved them so much we started bottling them to sell. The house dressing, cucumber sauce, and fajita sauce have become Triad pantry staples — a little piece of Pita Delite in your own kitchen.

The People Behind the Counter

Our staff show up in reviews by name — that's not an accident. From the enthusiastic hello at the door to the extra dip added without being asked, the warmth here comes from people who genuinely care about the guest in front of them.

Five Locations, One Food Truck

What started as a single storefront has grown to five locations across Greensboro and High Point, plus a food truck that brings the Pita Delite experience to events all across the Triad. Kamal still greets guests in the dining room — some things haven't changed at all.
